Just ok
I’ve had the Magnolia for right at a year. I originally bout it to be a smaller, at-home guitar so my other acoustic could stay at my office and travel less. This seemed like a good option for that with the added benefit of the fishman electronics if I wanted to play it live. Over the year of playing, I’ve found it to be… ok. The look is great. Build and finish don’t disappoint. I’ve found the neck and body really comfortable. All of these things draw me in and make me want to pick it up to play. Once that’s happened though, that where my experience changes a bit. The tuner isn’t the most responsive. The tuning machines on mine are also a little inconsistent. Most times I tune, I find myself going through the strings 2 or 3 times to get it right, then needing to tune pretty often while playing. The tuning struggle makes my biggest issue feel even worse. Mine has always seemed to an intonation issue. Up to the 3rd fret or so, it’s not noticeable. As I play higher up the neck, it becomes a problem while chording. I don’t trust it quite enough to use it live because of these issues. To be fair, I don’t imagine this is a wide-spread problem in all the Magnolias or certainly not all Orangewood guitars, just things I’ve experienced with my particular guitar. Feels like I didn’t quite get the “bang for your buck” I was hoping to. I still pick it up to play, I just do so with patience.

Awesome, sounding beautiful lap guitar
Decided to keep this guitar because the sound is so beautiful and it’s so comfortable to play. Thank you, Orangewood.

Magnolia Live Exceeded My Expectations
I decided to buy the Magnolia Live on a whim after I watching several Ruben Wan YouTube videos. I really liked the look of the guitar and the overall sound was impressive given the smaller body size. I own an Ava Live and love it. I played my Ava every day, that is, until the Magnolia Live arrived. I was smitten the moment I took the guitar out of its gig bag. It not only looked great, it felt perfect in my hands and had a surprisingly rich, balanced tone. After playing unplugged for awhile, I decided to give the Fishman electronics a try. Wow! The Magnolia "live" sounded amazing. I've played my new Magnolia every day since it arrived. I'm so glad I gave it try. Now I have two favorite guitars, both from Orangewood: my Magnolia Live and my Ava Live. Keep up the great work, Orangewood!
