Fire Plugs - Fire Starter Tinder

Love these fire starters. The will be with me this fall in the high country of Colorado. With a grill/bic type lighter they ignite in a instant. However no so much with a cheap magnesium type fire starter that produces a minimal spark. I tried it at least 200 times throwing a spark on the fluffed up firestarter. It never caught fire in calm, dry conditions. So I’m going to try the more robust 1/2” Ferro type rod with a better striker that throws more and hotter sparks. I’m pretty sure it will catch quickly. Stay tuned.

Everything arrived. Second order and i am very happy with the items. Starts easily really like the items all together starter sticks, fire plugs and ferro rod. Will buy again once i need them.

I just bought a starter bag to see how they work in hopes of saving money on fatwood. 30 seconds of effort to bend, twist, break, and unravel the starter and… instant fire. Easily goes long enough to get a fire going. Haven’t used it outside in our fire pit yet but I suspect it will be even more valuable in the wind. And a great value: break each in half and you double your fires. Very impressed!
