Beautiful film. An excellent movie

A Different Kind of Kaiju FIlm

Most kaiju films focus on giant monster action, and the conflict is largely man-vs. -kaiju or kaiju-vs-kaiju, sometimes with man-vs-man or man-vs-nature as a B-plot. HOCHI 35 is different. While the kaiju is there, the majority of the low-budget independent film is focused on the complex relationship of man and kaiju, and deals with the nature of tradition, religion, tragedy, and survivor guilt. While I don't think this film will satisfy fans looking for kaiju smash action, as a small, self-contained and relatively contemplative kaiju-based drama, I think it has merit.
