A weighty expensive occasional use shoe
The hybrid construction means that there is a very noticeable firm lip in an unusual location that is only midway up your heel making it dig into your heel while simultaneously making it feel like your foot is unstable within the shoe like it could pop out backwards any moment. The other craziness with the shoe is how heavy it is. Based on the uppers construction, all of the weight must be in the supportive sole and I can only presume that Vessi does not have access to any proprietary sole materials that are found in most modern shoes. The soles feel like a solid piece of rubber. These shoes weigh more than three times what a normal shoe I would buy weighs and more than even my waterproof boots I use for snowy trips. This really makes it not a comfortable every day shoe that I was hoping to take on an international trip. It’s comfortable enough for the occasional rain storm but otherwise not a go to shoe. But for the occasional rainstorm, I could just wear my boots. I was willing to pay more for a waterproof tennis shoe with better support than the previous version I had but the rare occasion when this would be used makes the price excessive.

Comfortable and molds to your foot.
Love that it molds to your own foot when breaking the shoe in. Super comfortable.
