Received it in about 4 days. Packaged very securely to prevent damage during shipping. Came with a full bobbin and enough top thread to show how to thread the machine. Built well and solid. Everything about it is quality. Obviously no shortcuts were taken in its manufacture. The edge guide is sturdy and very simple to adjust or move out of the way completely. Stowage of the tools on the top back is nice so I can get to them easily and don’t have to worry about misplacing them. I used 4 square pieces of 12oz leather underneath in the 4 corners for feet like suggested in Weaver’s video online and they worked perfectly. Was able to sew right out of the box after I put my own thread in it. The very first thing I sewed was a stack of scrap veg tan that was 3/4” thick. It sailed through the stack easily and required no tension adjustment at all. I then sewed 2 straps of 9oz veg tan together with the same ease and, again, no adjustments. The hand cranking is not an issue unless you’re doing something big like a belt with a lot of stitching. But even then it’s tolerable. Highly recommend it for small and medium jobs. Can’t speak to large jobs since I don’t do any. Overall I’m very pleased with it and have no reservations about recommending it to others.

I found this leather sewing machine awesome. It took me a moment to understand the correlation between stitch width, tension and fabric thickness but switching the settings is so easy.

First, I have been dealing with Weaver since 1994. They are A+. The Weaver Cub is my go to machine ever since I received it. And I have 3 other machines. So simple to set up for a project, easy to run, no headaches. It just works.
