I purchased the extra bands anticipating that there would not be enough resistance with the standard package, and I was right. Adding up all the claimed resistance and it adds up to 99lbs. I would estimate more like 50lbs. I just noticed that they recommend changing them every 6 months. I remove mine after every use to avoid stretching them out. I also went to Home Depot and bought 4 90lb garage door springs and small carabiner's to attach with the springs that came with it. I use all 3 for many exercises and do 20 reps to get a sufficient workout in.
