A lot less noisy and a very good finish. Note that if the bearing case are not perfectly parallel to the tables, you may have to shim the lowest bearing case since you won’t be able to compensate with the adjustment of the knives anymore. This happen on my General 1180.

Hi, purchased the unit for my Jointer and an additional one for my 15" planer. Got to say , so far, they work great , the two things I like are , the finish and the noise level , specially on my planer , which had me wearing ear muffs all the time , now don't need them at all. Really great product, glad I switch over ( should have done this before ). Thank you
