Gonna Make A Rug!!!

I’ve decided to make a large rug with the beautiful Zwartbles Top Roving I just bought. It’s a very squishy-soft, strong, durable wool, and I’m super excited to spin it! Now I just have to decide whether I’m going to crochet the rug, or weave it. I’m leaning towards weaving it and adding in just a few contrasting colors to make the whole thing really pop! YAY!!!

I have been a weaver for many years. I decided to expand my horizons and take up peg loom weaving. So much fun. Quick and easy. I had some wool from my sheep but quickly went through it. I was looking for a fiber that was durable enough to make rugs. I have to say Zwartbles fiber makes a beautiful rug.

I spun this as both singles and 2-ply for a natural dark I wanted to add to a tapestry. Consistent rich dark color and easy to spin, it's very well prepared fiber, drafts very easily. 100% recommend, I will be buying more.
