I wanted the Bulletpoint mount in my 2007 F150 but didn't want all the dash space taken up by the metal mounting tray. I removed the Auxillary jack and this mount to install the phone mount. I shaved off the tabs on the bottom and ran the bolt through with a locking nut and thread lock on the bolt to hold it in place on the dash. Worked great, holds steady, and doesn't rotate around when using. Keeps the dash open in my F150 and looks very clean installation. Recommended if you wanted a mounting ball to use with a bolt and mount anywhere on the dash without the need of the metal tray.
