Not a Great Fit for JessEmm 3.5XT Lift

This is a well made product but it is not a great fit for the JessEm 3.5XT lift with phenolic plate. After cutting my table, I discovered there isn't enough material left in the corners to allow for installation of threaded inserts to secure the plate to the table. Perhaps other plates have the corner screws located closer to the outer edges of the plate. I had to glue up some blocks in the corners to give me enough meat to install the plate. Also, I was hoping for a tighter fit. I'm getting 5 playing cards width of horizontal slop and 6 playing cards width of vertical slop. No doubt its a great product but just not great for my application.

The template was sized perfectly to the insert plate and the instructional video made using it straight forward and simple.

Straightforward Jig That Gets the Job Done

I’ve used the 11-3/4” x 9-1/4” Rabbet/Recess Cutout Template a few times now for cutting recesses for router table insert plates, including my table saw wing and a couple other builds. It’s straightforward to use and does exactly what it’s supposed to do, making the process much more accurate and repeatable. One small improvement I’d suggest is adding centerline or guide marks on the template and edges. That would make it easier to align with layout lines and center it before routing. Overall, a simple, effective jig that saves time and helps achieve clean, consistent recess cuts.
