Smith Machine Insert - Vanta Series

Amazing Value

I've had this Smith Machine attachment since March 2025. Its a great product but it comes with a trade off of permanently losing some rack space. I was able to do the install solo but would recommend having a plus one. It's been in my garage gym and I haven't felt the need to lubricate the guide rods since installing. It's smooth and when I contacted SMAI they said the bar was 35 lbs. Its probably closer to 45 lbs if you include the guide rod adapters. The built in safety spotters are great and take up minimal space on the smith machine. You have the ability to move the attachment up or down depending on your rack with some tweaking. I removed my bottom crossmembers to have the ability to deadlift without needing to evaluate myself. I recommend choosing a permanent spot for it because it is difficult to move once assembled. What's keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the knurling is inconsistent. Overall I believe the product is amazing for the value but you have to tailor it to yourself and what you foresee yourself doing on a smith machine. As your placement may hender you from doing certain exercises. I have my smith machine attachment on Rep Fitness PR-4000 uprights. I am able to still use my front uprights as I installed the smith machine facing inside of the rack.

Had to modify a bit to fit on my Rogue Monster Rack by putting spacers between uprights and sawtooth , but after that,,,, well I love it!!! Nice addition!!

Smith Machine for Rep 5000 Series

This setup was excellent. Worked with the team at SMAI to set this up. They were great to work with and the quality of this smith Machine is top notch. Definitely recommend the Smith attachment and SMAI.
