PurpleAir Classic Plus - Air Quality Monitor

Great information

We did require some tech support to get it online, but that was easy to get. We also had to contact PAKU to get it to display, but now it is up and running great, and gives us the information we wanted during this fire season.

Just what we need!

A Copper Mine is being planned near me and will be dumping tailings within 1.5 miles of a very populated area. We borrowed 10 monitors from the U of A last year and this year again…and we’re able to get 5 more through donations. There was nothing being monitored around this mine, We are wrapping a wall of sensors around the parameter. They won’t start building for another couple years if at all with the lawsuits…but we are getting consistent low numbers now as benchmarks for when they start up. This could help restrict their permits. Plus, residents are getting involved. If you have something obnoxious moving nearby in the future, the time to start tracking air, water and soil is NOW! Easy to set up and compare results to other sensors nearby. Data download works well but raw sensor data needs a formula to produce pm2.5 values like they show on the map.
