We used it to seal some sliced ham I bought from the grocery store. I (Eli) love ham, but I never get through the whole package before it goes bad, hence why we bought this. We've only tried it once, but it was really easy and was visibly airtight. When we saw one of the demonstration videos, I was terrified that it would require the use of a cell phone, given that 99% of electronics released in the last 10 years do. This is one of the 1%. Attaching it to your phone is just to power it, and you can plug a USB-C cable into it if that's more convenient, which makes the ability to use the phone in this way a really cool feature, rather than the usual data harvesting.
