I recently participated in a wood firing with Maine Prairie. I’ve fired with them before and continue to be impressed with the community that is fostered at Maine Prairie. JD & Megan have built a great community around their wood firings and I continue to learn with each experience. I would highly recommend if you are looking to expand your abilities and experiences as a potter.

Great “Hot” Experience in Firing
My first Wood Firing weekend was an experience I will remember for a long time. One doesn’t get the chance to do this in very many places and it’s right here in central MN!! It was Great Teachers, Great Team, and Great Pottery in the end!! So worth it!!

Wood firing
JD and Megan are wonderful artists and teachers who ensure a positive and educational wood firing environment. I have fired with them 6 times and will continue to go back for the community, education, and of course, the beautiful wood fired pots. Every firing is different, and you’ll find different gems in every kiln load.
