Stunning Amp-Dac

This beautifully crafted amp is a joy. The GT4 Max is incredibly clear and detailed, and seems to remove a curtain between me and the music, that I did not realize was there with my other amps and dacs. It is powerful, providing serious body and punch to spare. I am also pleased with my ability to nuance the sound via EQ. I have listened for hours with virtually no sense of fatigue. Having said that, the unit won't hide the flaws of a poorly engineered recording. In contrast, a good recording typically rewards me with surprising presence or sense of being in the room with the live music. At this point, the GT4 is my all-time favorite headphone amp by a substantial margin.

Power with class

The GT4 is an absolute power house. Coming from a Rotel DC-3 the Burson GT4 makes it look like a child’s toy. The aluminum enclosure is wonderfully machined and I love the OLED display and tactile vol control. Powering some Auduze LCD-4Z with little effort unbalanced which is half power, while waiting for my XLR cable to ensure the full experience. The other cons I found was a) OLED on max brightness causing the format type PCM in this case icon to slightly flicker but it’s not a problem when on Low mode. And b) the remote has a little bit of a rattling sound when moving around, I think I’ll have to open it and put some foam inside to soften the rattle. But all and all I’d 100% recommend this headphone all in one.
