Perfect for Me

When I saw this dress online, I was entranced. I pictured my round, size 26 body magically revealing a waist and the long skirt swirling around my legs as I walked. I did not picture myself being my actual 5 feet and 1. 5 inches tall. When the dress arrived, I was afraid of it. It is a formidable expanse of black, and I could only think of choir robes and pastor garb. After looking at it on a hanger for a week, I bit the bullet and tried it on. The fabric is lovely -- silky feeling inside and flowing without clinging on the outside. The sleeves are big but they aren't stiff and don't puff out. The belt loops are in roughly the right place, given my DDD bust. There is enough hip room but not a lot of gathering in the back with the belt loosely cinched. As I expected, it is very, very long. I will cut off roughly 10-12 inches and hem it to the bottom of my knee. I envision a bright touch of color in my shoes and a soft bright belt (maybe a silky scarf). I'm going to look like a duchess!

Very versatile

Love this dress. Can dress up or down. I ordered it big because I wanted it roomy. I can easily cinch with the belt or leave it loose. Fabric is really nice weight, feels like it will be a stample for a very long time.

I love this dress so much! It washes beautifully, looks polished, but has details that set it apart from just another shirt dress. The rounded collar, full sleeves, and crochet insets really take it to the next level. The overall shape of the dress—a bit of fullness in the skirt—adds flair without being too poufy. I wore 18k gold coin pendant and hoops and a red lip—could have stepped out of one of those old Dolce&Gabbana ads featuring multiple generations of Italian women looking chic, loving life.
