Great Sounding Dongle That Hits Way Above Its Weight Class
Honestly, the iBasso DC07 Pro has no business sounding this good for a dongle at this price point. iBasso put a quad DAC setup in this tiny thing, and you can really hear it in the background, it is dead silent, which lets all those tiny micro details and textures just pop out of nowhere.
Tonally, it’s super clean and transparent, but it doesn't fall into that trap of sounding dry, analytical, or clinical. There’s just a touch of natural warmth that keeps it sounding musical and engaging. The bass is incredibly tight and fast, it handles quick, complicated low end changes without breaking a sweat or getting muddy.
Vocals come through smooth and intimate, and the treble hits that perfect sweet spot of being crisp, airy, and detailed without ever getting sharp or fatiguing. What really blows me away, though, is the staging. The separation and layering are fantastic; it actually throws a wide, holographic stage where you can easily pinpoint exactly where every instrument is placed.
Plus, the physical volume wheel gives you great 100 step precision, and if you play around with the NOS filter, it rounds off the edges for a really nice, analog vibe. If you're looking to drive gear on the go without carrying a massive brick of a digital audio player, this thing hits way above its weight class.
