I would much prefer if this had a discus kind of shape to it, instead of a regular ball shape, so that it could be held more similarly to how a discus is held. On the other hand, this works ok in indoor settings where a discus can't actually be thrown. Even a disc shape couldn't be identical but closer to the hold, at least.

Perfect for throwing indoors against various walls or nets. I started with a different ball that was extremely rigid and felt like it was going to damage the wall and/or the gym floor when it landed. I opted to try this indoor ball instead, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Feels great in the hand and has a controlled rebound off the wall, making it easy to throw and catch and rack up reps.
