I wa a tad confused though and also watched some videos. The one part I really dod not get was that the booklet said to try basket weave on the letters. Not sure how or if I did it right.

I absolutely loved the How to Needlepoint Beginner Sampler Kit and would give it a full five stars without hesitation. The instructions were clear, well organized, and genuinely supportive for someone building confidence in needlepoint. Each step felt thoughtfully designed, from learning basic stitches to understanding how tension and thread choice affect the final result. The materials were high quality, and the project itself was engaging enough that it never felt like a chore. By the end, I felt not only more skilled, but more excited to keep stitching. What I appreciated most was how effectively this kit teaches fundamentals in a way that is practical and encouraging. It is an excellent balance of structure and creativity, making it ideal for true beginners and for those returning to needlepoint after time away. I also found it to be a wonderful teaching tool. It is the kind of sampler you could confidently use to introduce someone else to the craft. My only wish is for a similar sampler focused on a wider variety of background stitches. A companion kit that allows stitchers to practice and compare multiple background techniques in one cohesive project would be invaluable for both learning and teaching. I would purchase that immediately. This kit sets a very high standard, and I hope to see more educational samplers like it in the future.
