New Pu’erh tea drinker here.
I recently started my venture into Pu’er teas, starting with the shou’s. I ordered several types from three different places. Thus far with this Huang Gong, it’s complex and changes with each steep. I use 2 teaspoons of this tea, with about 14 ounces of water at about 208-210F. First steep at 30 secs or so, and I add 20-30 secs each steep thereafter. I’m using your advice on steeping to color as much as time, great advice! I enjoy the taste of every steeping, but my favorite is probably the 3rd or 4th steeping. There’s a sweetness that comes out and leaves an excellent aftertaste in your mouth. I’m looking forward to trying the other teas I ordered from you guys! (Especially the “sweet crust” shou pu’er, I ordered because of the short video you made.)🙂
