Very impressed and happy with Glasser Carbon
I purchased the carbon fiber Glasser for its durability to use while traveling…and it is serving that purpose well. However, I find that I prefer playing the Glasser at home too. The projected sound is loud and the tone is impressive. It is probably true that traditional wood instruments product different and perhaps better tones than carbon fiber and will sound better as the wood ages; nonetheless, the my carbon fiber is fun to play and sounds great…at least on par with wood. In fact the Glasser is a ‘cool’ looking instrument. A bit heavier than wood. The chin rest with preamp feels comfortable. I expect both positive and negative comments from others who see me with the Glasser Carbon Fiber at jam sessions and bluegrass festivals. Regardless, I purchased the Glasser for me not them. I am very happy with the Glasser and have been playing it several hours each day.

Incredible violin, but not pre-amp
I have the Fiddlerman Master violin for an acoustic, but this hybrid Glasser is amazing and I honestly feel like it's a slight step up. It's very responsive and has a beautiful sound on it's own without using the electric. The only complaint I have is the pre-amp batteries never seem to last more than a week, even when fully unplugged. Also shipping time took quite a while, nearly a month, but was well worth it, and this has become primary violin. I might consider getting another pre-amp installed, but I strongly recommend!
