Glasser Violin Review
It's a pretty decent fiddle. I've had it a few months now and have played it in numerous venues.....both indoor and outdoor gigs. It stays in tune and I like the tone and the way it plays. However, I have a few issues with it and the way it's designed and would like to offer a few suggestions on the design of the fiddle. #1 - I don't like the input jack being on the chinrest.....it's cumbersome. I really feel like it should be on the side of the body of the fiddle, not on the chinrest. #2 - I don't like the AAA batteries or the way that's designed! I think it should have a 9 Volt battery and the battery compartment should be on the body of the fiddle and it should be designed with a thumb release for the 9 Volt. So far, I haven't had to change the batteries, however, try to imagine having the batteries go out in the middle of a gig and trying to deal with a painfully small screw on a dark stage and actually dropping it and trying to find it! It would be almost impossible! VERY POOR DESIGN! I have a Zeta 5 String that I still have to carry just in case this issue pops up during a gig. I was hoping to only carry this fiddle and replace my Zeta, but I have to carry the Zeta for backup just in case this problem arises. I've had the battery fail in the Zeta during a gig and it takes less than 10 seconds to replace! #3 - The chinrest is somewhat uncomfortable and the hardware and button really are uncomfortable on my neck. I tried ordering a pad from y'all.....and couldn't find one that's designed specifically for the violin. Y'all really need to design a chinrest pad for this violin. Overall, it's a decent violin both in tone, feel, and weight. But, there are some serious design flaws that need to be addressed! Dwaine

I got a premium Glasser bow and a premium hard case and took the Glasser AX 5 string violin all the way on business class cabin from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Paris (CDG) and then to Bangalore (BLR) on Air France without any problem. On 4th November presented it to an Indian classical violinist. He tells me today about the quality of the violin in all superlative phrases and gives a 5 star ranking. I requested him to give his opinion himself so that others can benefit while their decision making process.
