Winter Wonderland - Printable Winter Escape Room for Kids

Poor font

This was marketed as being an escape room for kids but the font was not easily readable for many of the clues. Kids thought Ts were C's, N's were mixed up with H. I did this with 8 eighth graders and they all struggled with the font on a few clues. Also the format shows cutting off the "chapter" titles but most of the clues don't tell you what digit you are decoding so I had do go through each cut paper and add that info back on. Just poor formating. One clue using houses I just totally rewrote because I knew they would never understand the "signs" below each window. I spent hours editting and fixing to make this workable for my group. I also had to design my own cards for them to record the ten digit code on, it would have been nice if a printable fitting the theme had been included for writing the numbers as they found them. Overall they had fun but I won't be buying one from this company again for kids.

Lots of activities

My daughter and friends completed this escape room. It was somewhat challenging for them. There is an error on the first activity, resulting in an incorrect code number, but with supervision this can be overcome. Also, pay close attention in Chapter 8 as one detail is not so obvious in the picture.
