Great time was had in our Middle School Advisory Challenge!

I bought this to use for a middle school student council-run advisory challenge for our 13 advisories. It was so well organized, that even though my co-advisor and I constructed 13 copies of everything, it was easy to do. And the kids really enjoyed the puzzles, especially how previous items were needed for later puzzles. My own advisory wasn’t able to finish in the time we had, and begged me to let them finish later because they enjoyed it so much (which we did). All in all it was a terrific experience, and I would purchase other escape rooms as well!

Not engaging.

First the quality of the material and assembly instructions were top notch. Unfortunately that is where it ends. The only setup instructions was to read the intro and the game will be self guided. After printing, cutting, and gluing 30 sheets of material to assemble the game (which I knew before purchasing), the instructions said to read the intro and the game will be self guided. This led to questions right away. I emailed the creators about how you would confirm the correct solution to a puzzle without reading the last clue, which gives the solution. They responded with how the gameplay flows, but never responded to my question even after a second email asking the same question. The overall consensus of the game from most players was that it was too complicated for multiple players to play due to needing to review the clues for multiple puzzles. This game should be played with fewer players to stay engaged. If multiple copies were printed, there would be too much material making a disorganized game. If you have a small group, maybe up to four players, the you may have a better experience. Anything over that you may have guests leave the game like we did.
