Received a defective bee page holder with several scratches and flaws, so I requested a replacement and return of the item. However, Esterbrook refuses to refund return shipping, even for a defective item, because they state delivery was verified. The issue is not that the item was delivered, but that I received an item that was either damaged or a product return. This was intended as a gift, but now not possible with the defects. If a customer receives a defective item, a reputable company would follow through with a full refund, including shipping, and provide a pre-paid return label, but Esterbrook refuses to do this. Luckily, this was not an expensive item; I would not trust them with an expensive fountain pen purchase if this is how they handle return requests for damaged and defective purchases. They also grossly overcharge on shipping; almost $13 for a 4 oz. package. Extremely poor customer service, and I will never purchase from them again. Buyer beware!

How about not shipping defective merchandise and refusing to refund shipping costs because the item shows as delivered, per your customer service department? Why should a customer not receive a full refund on a damaged/defective item? When I replied to the customer service email and told them my concerns, and that you've lost a customer because of your return policy, I heard nothing back - no effort to remedy the situation. I was planning on purchasing a nice fountain pen from you, but will now shop elsewhere. Your customer service is very poor, and you don't stand behind your products, so I will not buy from your company again.
