Fit and finish not to standard

The style of the Cruikshanks is great, but unfortunately I’ve found that the fit and finish of the frame is not up to the usual high standards of Cubitts. The problem seems to stem from the new “blade arms”. My sunglasses arrived with temple arms that were noticeably out of symmetry, and operate unevenly under pressure. Looking through the acetate, you can see that the metal arms are not evenly placed in the plastic, which I suspect contributes to the issue (and means they can’t just be “adjusted” back into shape). A smaller issue, though still frustrating, the frames do not fit in the provided case (although they were forced in for shipping), which makes it inconvenient to pack them away for travel. I would hold off on buying Cruikshanks until Cubitts has finished polishing their production process for the oversized temple arms.

Cubbits staff were great, very helpful. Cubbits does need to work out a better carrying case for them though, the case provided doesn’t fit and the alternative soft case is tight. Other than that, all good. And got them just in time for Wimbledon! ; ) These are prescription sunglasses for distance as well, but it would be great if Cubbits was the first optician to create a bi-focal lens where the bottom of the lens had no prescription at all, to make it easier to read your phone and such if you can see clearly and don’t need a prescription for reading.
