OUTBOUND LIGHTING Trail Evo Bar Light

Just Perfect!

I originally bought the Outbound Detour after seeing a lot of strong reviews online. The build quality was excellent and it felt like a premium light, but I wasn’t totally sold on its performance once I took it on gravel. After I posted this review, Ottalaus reached out to me directly and offered to help. They took the initiative to arrange a swap to the EVO, which was honestly above and beyond what I expected. I’ve been riding with the EVO since and I love it. I run it on medium, paired with a helmet light, and it’s everything I need. The beam pattern just works better for gravel and mixed terrain. It’s wider, more usable, and gives me much more confidence than the Detour once the road turns rough. The build quality is excellent. It feels solid and well thought out, and nothing about it feels cheap or fragile. Battery life has been more than enough for my rides, and the controls are simple and easy to use, even with gloves on. What really clicked for me is how well the EVO works as a bar light in a two-light setup. It gives me consistent, reliable light, while my helmet light handles looking further down the trail and through corners. In that setup, I don’t feel under-lit at all. Between the EVO itself and Ottalaus’s incredible customer service, this ended up being a really positive experience.

Outbound Trail Evo - So Good

Just picked up an Outbound Trail Evo from Jay @ Ottalaus. Phenomenal light, phenomenal service. I ran my light for 2hrs on adaptive mode at ~0°C and the indicator lights say I used exactly 50% battery. Considering I had more than enough light the entire time, I would say that's incredible battery performance.
