Great little book

I have read this book many times. In fact, the reason I have had to order it is I lend it often, and half as often it doesn't come back - which is what happened with the last copy. To the uninitiated, this is the first of a series of books by Spike Milligan about the war. It _is_ funny, but anyone who has served in the forces will recognise immediately that it is also very realistic. In fact, I first came across it when I was nearing the end of my service, and I was struck at the time by how similar his experiences were to mine and my friends'. Well worth a read!
