These trays are well worth the price. They’re rugged and will last far longer than the traditional 72 cell trays. They are rigid, so carrying a 60 cell tray is a one handed operation, as opposed to the more flimsy traditional 72 cell trays, which generally are carried two handed in a second support tray. With the CD60 you can carry a 60 cell tray in each hand, that’s 120 seedlings at one time. Popping out seedlings from the Charles Dowding trays is easier and quicker with only your pinky finger. With traditional trays you can use the eraser end of a pencil or use a stick to pop out seedlings, but it’s harder to do, takes longer, and risks poking through the growing medium and damaging seedlings. The hole in the base of the Dowding trays is larger providing better drainage than the smaller holes in the traditional module trays. Bottom line you get what you pay for. I highly recommend the Charles Dowding module trays
