Good glass, tricky lids

As is so often the case with glass food containers, the glassware is great and the lids leave something to be desired. In this case, the plastic lids with silicone seals are often difficult to tighten enough to make them truly air/water tight. Lids are actually 3 pieces, and the small horizontal plastic piece on top will come apart. It's not really clear whether it's supposed to be a latch/stop on the indicators on the fixed part of the lid when the rotating part to which it's attached is rotated to open or close, but in practice it isn't: just rotate counterclockwise until the whole lid comes out, then rotate clockwise to mostly seal after pouring. Disassembly makes for easy cleaning, though. The pour spout works well as long as you do not fill beyond the shoulder of the jug, which will also prevent any contact between your beverage and the plastic parts of the lid. The jugs are nearly square which makes them a great fit in refrigerator shelves and door storage. Made in Italy, not China, and available in the US which is a hard combination to find.
