I bought the sharpener, beam, and samurai for my 5 year old daughter that plays travel hockey. She is very particular are her skates and this ensures they are perfect and safe for her. The sharpener is easy to use and all 3 products work together perfectly. Never assume the local shop knows what they are doing as I have corrected several teammates skates. This sharpener goes with us to every tournament on the east coast and has come in very handy. It will take a year or two to break even but kids grow like crazy and she has sized up 4 times since I bought the sharpener. excellent machine. still trying to figure out how to alleviate the "bump" transition in the toe from the grinding ring. otherwise it provides a very clean sharpen.

Had the sparx 2 and this machine has a few extra conveniences that I appreciate.
