Reel-to-Reel Tape - SM 911

Beautiful product!

Beautiful reel. The plastic reel looks so good and i was able to make a great recording from a digital source. It sounds great.

Not sure yet but there seems to be inconsistency in recording. I'm using an Ampex ATR-700 that has re-lapped heads and has been recapped. It is a 1/4 track machine. Recording "side 1" seems to be fine, but "side 2" channel 1 seems to vary in the recorded volume. I've tried it a couple of times and it seems to happen in the same area of the reel. I've played the recorded tape back on my Otari MX5050 MKii-2 with a 4 track head and the playback has the same variation. I haven't tried the LPR35 reel of tape yet
