The pattern is just fine. It’s a little more difficult than I expected but the instructions are pretty good. The dress definitely looks better without such a busy floral fabric.

The pattern had clear instructions. I adapted the pattern to fit my Ruby Red Fashion Friend doll. I didn’t do the embroidery and used a ready made trim instead. I really like the design with the pleats and tucks in the bodice which creates the boxy 1920s shape.

Sweet ‘20s drop waist dress

I really enjoyed making this pattern. It went together relatively quickly despite quite a few pattern pieces, and it was an easy sew following the well written directions. Next time I may try skipping the interfacing in the collar and front panel to try a looser look. Will look forward to seeing lots of versions of this dress by fellow sewers!
