Poor customer services for two orders placed right before Black Friday sales

I placed two orders right before Black Friday sales: one is over $500 and one is over $200. Two days later, this company offered free cube expandable set as free gifts as long as the order was $175 or above. I contacted the customer service and asked if my two orders could qualify since they have not processed nor shipped my order yet. They said no. But they said I could cancel my two orders and re-order them to get the free gifts. This does not make sense at all. They would rather waste my time to cancel and re-order and waste their time to do all the changes by making the free gifts so time consuming to get.
