I have not had the opportunity to use the kayak as it is winter here but everything seems very well built. Had not ordered the leash initially but it seems like a great accessory to mitigate losing your paddle.

Keeps your paddle around

Attaches well-enough to the paddle and the kayak. Doesn't get in your way or snag on anything. Nice to know that your paddle won't go far if you happen to drop it in the water while you're trying to drink or fish or whatever.
