Gravel / Cyclocross Darkhorse

I opted for this frame in my search for a budget cyclocross build; The posted geometry of this bike leans a little bit more towards cross than modern gravel bikes, but has ample clearance for modern tires. The frame is dutifully simple; I'm particularly fond of the lack of tiny fasteners and bits normally associated with the entry and exit points of internally routed cables. I used the Jagwire Housing Damping Foam, which was easily installed via the large cable exit port above the bottom bracket. I chose to shim down the seatpost from 31.6mm to 27.2mm partially due to the increased options of 27.2mm posts, but mostly because that's what I ordered by mistake in the outset. The posted tire clearance is true; ample clearance with 700x45c tires mounted to rims with a 25mm internal width. This bike is an incredible value; the geometry is really well balanced.

The 6061 is a great frame at a great price. Comes with an all carbon fork, lots of colors to choose from and the customer service from State is great!
