Not fit for purpose

You have to push the cork in by hand, the device is too flimsy to use a mallet, and I for one cannot possibly shove a cork in by hand. My partner just about managed it but the top of the cork was chewed up. Buy a bar of chocolate instead, you'll get more pleasure and use from it.

Cheap and cheerful

The corker is very compact but does the job rather well. It does require some physical strength but nothing a fully grown man wouldn't be able to deal with. Very easy to use and quickly gets the job done Tested with waxed corks
