Exceptional Shopping Experience

Blooming Bulb provided an exceptional shopping experience, making it my top recommendation for online peony vendors. This year, I decided to expand my peony garden and ordered tubers from two online sellers. However, Blooming Bulb stood out as the superior choice. I purchased a total of 35 peony tubers from both vendors, with 24 from Blooming Bulb and 11 from the other. Remarkably, 22 out of the 24 tubers from Blooming Bulb sprouted successfully. When I reached out to Blooming Bulb’s customer service, they promptly shipped two replacement tubers to me. To my delight, the replacement tubers also sprouted! In contrast, my experience with the other online vendor was quite disappointing. Only 4 out of the 11 tubers sprouted, and while 7 were replaced, it took 3-4 weeks for the replacements to arrive. The tubers from the other vendor were small and weak, and the eyes that did sprout were fragile and some currently appear to be dying, even on the replacement tubers. Additionally, the other vendor shipped tubers in envelopes rather than boxes. To ensure consistency, I planted all the tubers from both vendors in the same area using the same approach. The tubers from Blooming Bulb were healthy and produced healthy peony plants. I am hopeful that some of the Blooming Bulb peonies will bloom next year. Overall, I highly recommend Blooming Bulb if you’re looking for peonies, but plan to buy them early in the planting season. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that three peonies I wanted to buy were sold out by Blooming Bulb.

I have been growing peonies for many years. I have about 70 plants at various stages of growth. Living in Alabama means an early bloom season so I typically purchase and plant in the fall, sometimes as late as November. But I could not pass up the lovely “Celebrity” peony this spring so I ordered two from Blooming Bulb. I planted them immediately upon arrival. I am pleased to say both have come up with healthy growth, about 3” tall. I just hope our blast-furnace summer heat doesn’t do them damage. Will report back in Spring 2026! These Blooming Bulb roots were well packaged and had very long main roots with more eyes than some I have ordered from other companies. Fingers crossed!
