A genuine upgrade from your average IEM
Excellent sound and affordable price. I really appreciate the dynamic sound from these little powerhouses. They are heavy in a way that feels satisfying and high quality. I find getting them into one of my ears to be a bit fussy, hence the 4 starts instead of 5. The wire doesn't want to turn the way it needs to turn to do the loop around my ear. But this is minor.

Incredibly Rich Mids
I listen to many different genres of music, but above all else I’m a big jazz-head. I’m not terribly picky, I just wanted a set of IEMs that would make the drum kit sound expansive and give a nice woody, organic quality to the upright bass. These IEMs do both this and much more, the melodic instruments also sound incredibly rich and dynamic. These saxophones in particular are superb. These also excel with all sorts of folk styles, older country music, vintage soul, and perhaps most surprisingly, many of my favorite punk and post-punk records, where rich mids can really bring the instruments to life, even if the recording/production might not be top notch. I also have a set of Moondrop Chu 2s that have a more scooped V-shaped sound that handle hip-hop, heavier rock/metal, funk, electronic, etc. very well. If you want that scooped sound these might be underwhelming, but if you’re after rich, organic midrange sounds, these are a 10/10 choice.
Construction-wise, the metal earpieces feel very premium and well above what I was expecting at this price point. The cable also feels excellent. It’s the perfect length, has a very “premium” look/feel, and an interchangeable input that can accommodate regular 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced jacks. The eartips weren’t great, but I was going to replace them with my favorite foam eartips anyway, so that’s not really something I personally care about at all.
