The Sad Charade

I love this muted, plain antique blue ink. I think it's the perfect storm cloud gray-blue! It's easy to see when writing any time you need to.

Blissfully Melancholy Slate Blue!

The name of this ink so perfectly matches the shade which shifts from a melancholy teal to a stormy greyish blue with a thicker nib. When using medium to bold nibs, even a hint of greenish shading can be seen, especially on quality paper. I haven't been able to get shading with fine and extra fine nibs, and the writing for these nibs remain on the darker end of the color spectrum, although no less lovely. Indoors, the color may seem like graphite, but when seen in bright light, the color is most definitely reminescent of a stormy dawn. Bleedthrough can be quite visible with thicker nibs paired with cheap paper.

It’s like a deeper blue than the Porcelain Past. Beautiful and fun. It’s a better pen shade as well because of the slightly darker tone.
