I am definitely happy with my purchase of the Buck 055 pocket knife. Excellent Buck knife craftsmanship, extremely sharp on arrival, a perfect size that I highly recommend.

Half doesn't have to be half

The quality of manufacture is all Buck. However, the design leaves much to be desired. I know the 055 is supposed to be a half-sized 110, but that doesn't mean all specs need to be cut 50%. The oal is fine. The blade is a good size for a pocket knife. But the handle thickness is too thin to create a feeling of confidence in the hand. It just feels flimsy and cheap. The model 703 is a good example. The 703 is about the ssme length, with a similar main blade. But the 703 feels solid in the hand and inspires a confidence that it will be up to the task at hand. I know the 703 has 3 blades while the 055 has only 1, but the hand of the knife is what makes it a tool someone wants to keep in their pocket and depend on for whatever come up. I bought 2 of thr 055's when I saw them with great expectations. But I'm stashing them away as back-ups to the back-ups. Not all the specs or measurements need to be exactly half for the 055 to capture the "half 110" title. Half-size 110 with full sized dependability.....

This knife works out great for me, I had to purchase this one will I send my old one in for repairs. couldn't be without one!
