Looks great, instructions suck
I recently installed the DV8 Centric bumper from DV8 Offroad, and I’ve got some mixed feelings about it.
Let me start with the positive, because it absolutely deserves it. The bumper looks incredible once it’s on. The fitment is solid, the design is aggressive without being over the top, and it completely transforms the front end of the truck. If you’re going for that clean, rugged, off-road-ready look, they nailed it. No complaints at all in the final appearance department. It genuinely looks like a premium piece once installed.
Now… the install.
The instructions are, bluntly, awful.
The pictures are borderline useless. They’re either too zoomed in, taken at weird angles, or so low-detail that you can’t even tell what you’re looking at. Half the time you’re left guessing what part of the truck you’re even supposed to be working on. For something that requires cutting and permanent modifications, that’s not just frustrating, it’s unacceptable.
There’s also a serious lack of step-by-step clarity. Important details are either glossed over or completely missing. You end up second-guessing yourself constantly, which is the last thing you want when you’re trimming a factory bumper or aligning critical mounting points.
Honestly, for a product at this price point, there is no excuse for not having a proper install video. A clear, start-to-finish video would solve 90% of the issues here. Instead, you’re left piecing things together like it’s a DIY puzzle with missing instructions.
To sum it up:
• The bumper itself? Fantastic. Looks amazing, feels solid, totally worth it visually.
• The instructions? Absolute garbage. They need a complete overhaul, and DV8 really needs to step up and produce a proper install video.
If you’re comfortable figuring things out on your own, you’ll end up happy with the result. But be prepared to spend extra time, do your own research, and maybe say a few choice words along the way.
