Great little microscope

It's a great little scope - variable magnification for basic school and science projects. Resolution is adequate for basic stuff but not great. At lesser magnification it is much better and deteriorates the more you zoom in. Came with a CD which I can't put on my laptop - who has cd's anymore? Still I used the Amscope app which is packed with functionality. The stand is also adequate and a must have even for low magnification. Lighting is good. For the price it is a total bargain and a must have in every school kid's room.

I use a regular microscope, but this is good for larger items. It is also going to go in my backpack for a road trip where I can't take a full size scope

Barely compatible with Mac. Hard to focus. Zoom feature does not work. This is the same microscope as all the other that look like it. If this is what you want, buy the cheapest one. For actual study you want the traditional microscope with a back-lit slide. Objects tend to be dark looking when lighted from the top.
