AmScope T690 Infinity Plan Darkfield Trinocular Compound Microscope with 20W Halogen Kohler Illumination and Optional Digital Camera

Imperfect, but more than good enough.

I use various scopes at work but this is the first one I bought for home use. I wanted something with darkfield and oil immersion so I could inspect sand samples I pick up during scuba diving. I am happy to report that this scope is perfectly functional out of the box for that application. Only two minor annoyances. 1. There were a couple of faint finger prints on some of the optics. They were easy enough to clean off. 2. Switching between brightfield and darkfield is not as easy as flipping a switch (as on the scopes I use at work), instead you have to uninstall the brightfield condenser and install a separate darkfield condenser. This is simple and fast enough, but it does take some extra time. I am a happy buyer.
