Solid Construction but thumb screw?

Each piece feel solid and I like the quality. Using a thumb screw to hold antenna it backs off with enough bumps. Downfall to these mounts is without a whip in it they fill with snow or ice and u have to have a way to chisel the stuff out to use it. Us northern winter wheelers need to find an alternative solution.
