VENUS WRAP JUMPER | DEW

I’ve had my eye on this brand for about two years because I absolutely love the colors and patterns they use in their textiles, it’s right up my fashion alley. Their pieces are so unique! The only thing that kept me from purchasing sooner was the price. I like to invest in well-made, one-of-a-kind pieces and when the 2025 Labor Day sales came around I decided it was finally my time to shine. I ended up ordering four pieces, double-checking the sizing charts and feeling confident about my $500 order (yikes, that’s a big spend for me!). But since I hadn’t bought new clothing for myself in about a year, I could justify it. When the package arrived I was so excited to try everything on, but I was disheartened to realize that only one item fit as expected. This jumper, unfortunately, was one of the pieces that didn’t work out. While the tie waist does allow for some adjustability, the folds created in the fabric when tying the belt fall at a strange spot on my hips, making the fit feel off.Because the jumper runs small, the pocket openings also sit farther back on my hips, which makes it awkward to slide my hands in and cumbersome to use them for something practical—like slipping in a phone and being able to reach it easily. I also struggled with the armholes, getting one arm in is fine, but the other requires a lot of bending and stretching (and since the fabric has little stretch, it’s difficult and uncomfortable). Taking it off is even trickier. Once the jumper is on it is also difficult for me to bend over to touch the ground or to crouch, I fear that I will rip the fabric one of these days doing any kind of movement that requires this. Another thing to mention is the fabric itself, it has a rougher texture compared to the other three pieces I bought as if there is some wool blended into the material, but it states that it's 100% cotton. It’s not unbearable, and once I’m wearing it I barely notice, but it was definitely noticeable given how soft the other items are. I did purchase this as a final sale so I have no ability to exchange it unfortunately.
