Farpoint Dovetail Weight System 2

Could be designed better. Received with damage due to weak 1/4” bolt used

The 3.5” weight screw is held on by a short 1/4” hex bolt that is simply not strong enough. My unit arrived with this hex bolt bent because the weight plates had been threaded onto the unit and shipped this way, and the jostling of shipping put too much stress on this 1/4 bolt resulting in it being bent. I sent a message to Farpoint asking for a new bolt, but received no reply. I ended up getting a new one at Home Depot. However, it is my opinion that 6 lbs is too much weight for this 1/4” bolt. A different better design would completely eliminate this. I also feel the 3.5” screw is unnecessarily too long and a shorter version should be offered. I was at least pleased that I received the shiny silver weight plates since it matched my mount, and at least I bought it when it was on sale.

Not happy

Sent numerous emails with questions about two items I was interested in purchasing my ever got a reply….decided to take a chance and bought them anyway….they weren’t compatible after several phone calls I finally got somebody and told them what was going on they took my information and told me somebody would be getting back to me…. Two weeks later and nothing….I will not be purchasing anything from farrowing again

Excellent product ! I would suggest a flat washer on the threaded rod to brace the rod against the bracket to keep the threaded rod perpendicular to the bracket. The broad threads cause it to angle a bit without a washer
