Delicious Fruity Acidic Large Beefsteak Tomatoes
From one single plant, I got 8 large marbled yellow and red beefsteak tomatoes. They weight between 6 oz to 16 oz. Due to its large fruits, the plants takes a long time to produce tomatoes (planted in May; harvesting first tomato in August). The taste is sweet, fruity (like pineapple), acidic, and juicy. They are great for fresh eating. I really like this tomato flavor! The plant grows well single stem in a 20 gallon grow bag. I had problem with army soldier caterpillars eating my Pineapple tomatoes in August (zone 7b). Another thing to tell is that this beefsteak tomatoes are prone to cracking after a heavy rain. To avoid that, I pick the blushing tomatoes before the heavy rains arrives. I would place this tomato in my "tomato must plant list" rotation. Still, not a "every year tomato variety."
