Easy to sew and well drafted pattern

Love this dress and aside from the time required to undertake all the gathering it was an easy sew... Love the options with bust size adjustment, which I needed. I do find the waist ties inside the dress in particular seem to stretch or move and the dress starts falling off me after a while and I have to re-secure it. I think when I sew another one I will create a button tab with a button and buttonhole at the waist instead to feel more secure.

Wonderful dress

Not sure why it’s taken me so long to make this dress, it was a joy to see from start to finish, (even using a linen/cotton blend that likes to fray once cut) to overcome the fraying issue I overlocked all edges making sure not to trim the pieces and that all notches were marked. Very comfortable to wear and receives lots of compliments when wearing. Love the sleeves, they’re perhaps my best yet. I’ve never really been a dress person as rtw doesn’t fit right, Cashmerette is slowly but surely changing that for which I am extremely grateful. Next up is my first Upton.
