Good performer; OK flavor
The Pony Express was very quick to develop fruit and is very disease-resistant for me. I put my young transplants in the ground on August 20th and harvested several tomatoes 80 days later. That may not sound impressive, but by mid-November, the sun is only up for 10 hours a day, and the temps are in the 70s and 80s. The fruit is very large for a Roma, totally blemish-free, and very firm, but I was a bit disappointed in the mealiness of the flesh. I picked them when they were reddish-orange and let them fully ripen on the counter. Also, the flavor was fine, but I prefer a more savory, acidic flavor. This was a little on the sweet and bland side for me. Tomato flavor is impacted by the environment, so maybe some warmer temps during the summer are necessary to fully amp up the flavor.
